Integral Tungsten / Alumina Crucibles

The integral Tungsten / Alumina Crucible is a development of GTE Sylvania and is ideal for evaporation of Iron and Nickel alloys. The integral Tungsten / Alumina Crucible increases source life and provides greater thermal efficiency as compared with conventional crucible and crucible heater combinations. The crucibles maintain the metal evaporant as a spinning ball within each unit. Flowing, spitting and wetting are reduced and material efficiency is high for a broad range of alloys which include nickel, iron, gold, lead, manganese, tellurium, selenium, tin, zinc, antimony and silver.

The following are maximum recommended usage parameters for achieving a calculated wire temperature of 1525C, and an estimated surface temperature of the Crucible of 1475C.
